In the 1940’s, Knoxville natives Alfred Robinson (left) and Monte Millen (right) took up weightlifting at a friend’s house. Here they are, dressed in their finest, at the old Jewish Community Center on Vine Avenue, perhaps showing off the results of their efforts.

 

Both continue to live in Knoxville.
