COME NOSH AT KNOSHVILLE: A JEWISH FOOD, ART, AND CULTURE FESTIVAL

The 7th annual Knoshville: A Jewish Food Festival brings together all Jewish community organizations in the Knoxville and Oak Ridge area to share a variety of Jewish-themed cuisine with our greater community. The event’s name is a play on the Yiddish word “nosh,” which means to snack or nibble.

The event takes place at Arnstein Jewish Community Center on April 14 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Visitors have an opportunity to taste a wide variety of Jewish foods. Our menu this year consists of blintzes, hamantaschen, Bundt cakes, sabich sandwiches, knishes, challah, kosher wine, olive dip/matbucha/hummus with pita, borekas, and more! We are also excited to have Potchke Deli joining us and serving smoked whitefish bialys and chocolate and cinnamon babka.

Knoxville Jewish Alliance Director of Community Engagement, Tara Bain, says this one-day event provides a flavor of Jewish food and culture. “Come for the delicious food prepared by our wonderful Jewish organizations and stay to wander through The Shuk, a traditional Middle Eastern outdoor market. Enjoy the hourly entertainment, including singing, dancing, and a Matzah Factory. Then stay for a while and let the kids hang out in the Kid Zone to make bird feeders, slide on the giant inflatable, and play carnival games.”

Free parking and a shuttle service will be available at 6616 Deane Hill Drive. Accessible parking will be available at Arnstein Jewish Community Center at 6800 Deane Hill Drive.

Tickets for food, drinks, Kid Zone wristbands, and Hebrew Tennessee t-shirts can be purchased in advance online or at the event. A suggested ticket purchase is $15 per person, and cash and card are accepted at the event. Checks will be accepted for Bundt cake sales. To order tickets or to learn more about the festival, visit www.jewishknoxville.org.

The entire community is invited to attend and nosh! (RAIN OR SHINE.)
