On October 7th, 2023, Hamas unleashed a vicious attack on Israel, killing nearly 1,200 innocent civilians, taking over 250 people hostages, and shattering the global Jewish community’s sense of safety. On the one-year anniversary of that horrible massacre, it is important for our community to mourn those who lost their lives and embrace their families, pray for the remaining hostages, pay tribute to the heroes who fought to defend our people, and reaffirm our community’s strength and commitment to Israel. 

 

By coming together to pay tribute to the fallen and the heroes, we are expressing our heartfelt and unwavering solidarity with Israel and its people. Please join Knoxville Jewish Alliance, Chabad of Knoxville, Hadassah Knoxville-Oak Ridge, Heska Amuna Synagogue, Jewish Congregation of Oak Ridge, Knoxville Jewish Community Family of Funds, Knoxville Jewish Day School, and Temple Beth El on October 20 for A Community Gathering.
