Mira Kimmelman honored by NCCJ

 

  In 1997, Oak Ridge’s Mira Kimmelman was honored by the National Conference of Christians and Jews, receiving their Religious Service award for her work in Holocaust education in the public schools and the community.  Pictured here are a group of friends from Knoxville and Oak Ridge who attended the dinner in her honor.

 

Back row, from left: {unknown}, the late Fran Sturm, Larry Dresner, Mel Sturm; front row: the late Dot Levin, Mira Kimmelman, Sonya Eichler, Marion Goodstein, Gilya Schmidt, Eileen Handler. Marion moved to Israel. Dot’s step-son Charles Levin lives in Knoxville. The others continue to live in Knoxville or Oak Ridge.
