1893 New Knoxville Jewish Cemetery Plot Deed

Back portion of cemetery deed # 18, lot 150, sold to David Blaufeld, and front portion of deed # 19, lot 151, sold to his brother Jacob Blaufeld, on 6 November 1893 for Five Dollars by L Berwanger and S Hyman on behalf of Knoxville Hebrew Congregation Beth El, for deeds in what was then known as Beth-El Cemetery, later to become known as the New Jewish Cemetery, shared by Temple Beth El and Heska Amuna Synagogue. David died in 1923 and Jacob in 1928, and both are buried there. Jacob was the grandfather of Walter Blaufeld, Jr., one of the Knoxville Jewish servicemen killed during World War II.
