Dear Reader:
Welcome to
Ha’ Kol; your Knoxville Jewish community newsletter. A great deal of thought and energy went into the “birth” of this 2009 addition to the life of Jewish Knoxville. Ha’ Kol is a joint project for our community. We took a chance by “…departing from the past for the good of the people, rather than limiting people for the good of the past.”Ha’ Kol is designed to give you, the community member and reader, a greater picture of what is happening in our broader Jewish community. You can read about the wide variety of Jewish programs and activities all in one publication. We will be using color to highlight the publication’s contents. In order to finance this publication, our publishing contractor, LPI, is selling advertisements on our behalf. They print over 50 congregational and Federation publications nationwide. You can continue to read this on the KJA and congregation websites as well.
In 2009, each congregation, represented by Ted Besmann and Stephen Eisen, and the KJA executive committee, represented by Scott Hahn and Jeff Gubitz and respective boards, reviewed the concept and approved its form and content. The content of each issue is created by correspondents from each sponsoring organization.
We hope you like Ha’ Kol. As a community working together we can only be stronger than we are.
Jeff Gubitz, Publisher
